Magnificent Toulouse-Lautrec

This is an impressive an eye-catching example of Toulouse-Lautrec’s work. Its consignor believes forensics will subsequently prove it to be authentic and reports most people who see it agree with him. Toulouse-Lautrec was well known to frequently paint on a panel of wood (or hard paper) instead of canvas because he could more easily work on it in the Paris cabarets and brothels he frequented. Its authenticity is further suggested by the Galerie Mathias Fels certificate verso which clearly identifies Toulouse-Lautrec as the artist. Fels’ Paris gallery was known to feature his work.
