Magnificent two-piece Diego Rivera Painting

These large and impressive 1933 paintings by Diego Rivera belong in a museum or a very fine home. They are thought to have been used as studies for Rivera’s most famous work, his epic “History of Mexico” mural in Mexico’s National Palace which he painted during the years 1929-1935. There is Museum Nacional certificate verso dated 1933 identifying the artist as Diego Rivera. At some point they were apparently archived by the Museum Nacional and either gifted or sold to the Caracas Museum of Contemporary Art as evidenced by a similar certificate from the Caracas museum. The Caracas museum, as was it custom, similarly attached a certificate verso that identifies each of them as a Rivera and attests to its authenticity. An investor is willing to buy a minority interest of up to forty percent with the principal buyer having full possession if the buyer will agree to have it authenticated and sold as soon as Sotheby’s or Christies begin accepting the results of forensics tests as proof of authenticity.
